The goal of integration is for the resident Swiss and foreign national population to co-exist peacefully on the basis of the values of the Federal Constitution and marked by mutual respect and tolerance. Foreign nationals should participate in the economic, social and cultural life of society. This requires both the willingness of the immigrants and the acceptance of the resident Swiss population.
