Your rights
The Swiss Data Protection Act states that any person may request information as to whether and what data concerning them is being processed. They may also request a copy of their data. However, these
rights to be provided with information and copies are not absolute. Requests may be refused or the information provided restricted if there is overwhelming public or private interest to do so. Exercising these rights is generally free of charge, provided there is not a disproportionate level of expense involved.
How can you request information/copies?
The request must be made in writing via e-mail or post. Anyone submitting such a request must provide a form of identification. This will normally be a copy of an official identification document.
