On 28 October 2020, the Federal Council approved the strategic goals for the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) for the years 2021 until 2024
The strategic goals have been framed in such a way that METAS can successfully tackle the challenges of a national metrology institute and continue to perform the corresponding tasks.
The Federal Council expects METAS to provide industry, the administration and the scientific community with an effective metrological infrastructure together with the measurement principles and metrological services they require.
Among other things, the human resources policy goals state that METAS is to be involved in the education of trainees and that it should increase the proportion of women among its scientific personnel where possible.
