Patrick Wittwer
Vice Director & Head of the Federal Security Service Directorate

Patrick Wittwer has been vice director and head of the Federal Security Service Directorate since 1 March 2026. From 2014 to 2026, he held various positions at the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). From 2024 onwards, he served as head of security, responsible for the overall security of the SBB Group, including protecting the company, its employees and customers from malicious attacks. Patrick Wittwer began his professional career with the Cantonal Police of Bern, where he worked for eight years, including as a negotiator and criminal investigator.
