Markus Gisin is the head of the Federal Criminal Police since 1 June 2026. From 2014 until May 2026, Markus Gisin was head of the criminal police at the Cantonal Police of Aargau, a member of the police executive board and first deputy to the commander since 2014. In this role, he led complex police operations in response to exceptional threats or involving serious crime, and was responsible for major criminal investigation cases.
