Markus Gisin

Designated Vice Director of fedpol & Head of the Federal Criminal Police Directorate

Markus Gisin has been head of the criminal police at the Cantonal Police of Aargau, a member of the police executive board and first deputy to the commander since 2014. In this role, he leads complex police operations in response to exceptional threats or involving serious crime, and is responsible for major criminal investigation cases.
He has many years of leadership experience in law enforcement and also serves as a lecturer at the Swiss Police Institute and the Academy for Public Prosecutors. Markus Gisin will assume his new position at fedpol in June 2026.
