Firearms

(Contract required and subject to notification)

A written contract is required to acquire firearms that are subject to notification and their essential components. The contract must contain details of the persons acquiring and transferring the firearm, and of the firearm itself. The person transferring the weapon must send a copy of the contract to the acquirer’s cantonal weapons office within 30 days.

Important:

Foreign nationals who do not hold a C settlement permit require a weapon acquisition permit for all weapons and their essential components. They must submit the relevant application to the cantonal weapons office in the canton where they live.
